Admittedly, this topic is a bit off the beaten track for someone just starting out but I can’t resist throwing in my two cents worth. As a small business owner, I’m constantly talking with other small business owners and wondering how they make it work, first on just making the business a success and then how their business handles the issue of health care. The reality is to achieve the first (success), they can’t offer the second (health care). No real surprise but it then leads me to estimate the number of these types of businesses and how many people they employ that they can’t offer health insurance to. Of course, you can get the official numbers from the various media types using them as battering rams to propel their point of view but back on my level, I see faces, faces of people who can’t afford or don’t have a health care option.

Technically, I guess that should be “On Both Coasts” as glovals are now available for sale at River Services Supply in Savannah, Georgia and Arnold’s Frontier Hardware and Gift in Sierra Madre, California. Of course, glovals are available everywhere by going online to www.glovals.com, but if you live in Savannah or Sierra Madre, stop in and take a look. Glovals are great for those end of summer camping and RV trips and football season is coming so get your gloval for those tailgating parties!

The glovals portable lighted signage system made its official debut at the Atlanta Gift Show. You can see me pictured above in my booth along with the Glovals Glopher (my sister, Kim), also making her debut. Attendance was lighter than expected and the mood sometimes reflected the state of the economy but we still had fun, thanks to Sis and my cousin Chip who also helped man the booth. We met some great people, including Melissa of Bee Tees and Kristie and Andrew of Life is Labs, the best booth neighbors anyone could ask for. And we made some important contacts. Game on!
